In April James, Dan, Kerry and Kenny completed their paddle and circumnavigation around Phuket Island, Thailand during the GREEN Paddlers Conservation Awareness and Action Service Project. Along the way they met lots of new friends, learned about local issues and met the groups working for a sustainable future.
They had 250+ volunteers join them for beach cleanups and inspired many local businesses and environmental clubs to take action for conservation and sustainability!
The folks they met along the way also inspired them to continue with their efforts and gave them energy and enthusiasm to keep paddlin’!
As they returned to their regular jobs they got swept away by the currents of work and family but often reminisced about the GREEN Paddlers Adventure and Service Project often wishing they were back on the water Paddling 4 the Planet!
A special thanks goes to Nick Anthony and SEEK for their tremendous help, dedication and behind the scenes work that was invaluable in making GREEN Paddlers happen!
In the upcoming months we will be updating our site with video episodes of GREEN Paddlers with links to Global Issues and other relevant educational materials and sites so that schools, teachers, students and community members can educate themselves about local environmental and conservation issues.
Make sure to stay tuned for the next GREEN Paddlers… coming to Bali, Indonesia in June 2015!
