I love exploring Nature and trying to figure out how things work. No matter how much time I spend outside I’m always learning something new.
I grew up playing outdoors and spent almost every day roaming around until dark exploring forests in the Southeastern United States. This turned into a love for Nature and formal study of biology, stream ecology and related sciences in university and graduate school.
For the past 20+ years, I’ve worked as both a classroom science teacher and Naturalist in the United States, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
I’ve spoken at many conferences, taught workshops, led trips and shared my passion for Nature and outdoor adventure with countless individuals, students, teachers and community groups.
My goal is to get you outside of your comfort zone exploring Nature’s mysteries while Connecting with People and Planet and having the adventure of a lifetime!
To accomplish my goal I now lead Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC) expeditions that focus on environmental education, adventure, cultural immersion and service learning trips for families, students and anyone that is intrepid enough to join me for an expedition!
By doing this I hope to help folks to discover their own connection with Nature and inspire them to take action for conservation and a sustainable future.
If we’re lucky, I will see you on the trail sometime soon!
